At present, the use of electronic devices in the residential, commercial and industrial sectors has increased. These devices are sensitive to disturbances in the network. Among the disturbances that affect these devices, voltage sags are recorded most frequently. Due to the above, it is necessary to have reliable and accurate measurements of this disturbance. Accordingly, this paper presents the design and construction of a prototype virtual meter for voltage sags. The prototype performs the registration and segmentation of sags using the tensor analysis and the Kalman filter. The prototype implementation was developed on the DSpace DS1104 acquisition and rapid prototyping board. The operating tests were performed with voltage sags records supplied by the local network operator.
