Design of a Prototype for Monitoring of Harmonics and Steady State Parameters in Networks Of Voltage Less Than 1 kV

This paper presents the design of a signal acquisition and processing PCB, which allows knowing the trend of steady state parameters and harmonic distortion of a single-phase or three-phase low voltage network, in real time and using low-cost hardware. All stages of the hardware are designed. Both, the software design criteria for the acquisition and processing of analog signals, and the way in which data is presented, averaged and sent by SCI/UART serial communication to be stored in a database are described. The results are validated with a standard equipment, which determines that the card has adequate accuracy to calculate the parameters of interest.
