Los escritorios fueron muebles estimados y apreciados como piezas suntuarias. El escritorio de El Bestiario responde al modelo tipo papelera el cual se colocaba sobre bufete, bufetillo o directamente sobre alfombra, en los espacios domésticos al servicio de civiles y religiosos. Fue uno de los muebles más elaborados y complejos tanto en su construcción como en su recubrimiento pues incorpora variadas técnicas. En muchos casos contiene complejas imágenes que dan lugar interesantes interpretaciones. En ellos se desarrollan programas acordes con
el gusto y la necesidad por los aspectos morales.

Desks were once considered a sumptuary piece of furniture.
The bestiary´s desk responds to a paper holder model
that could be placed over a writing table or directly on a
carpet in domestic spaces used by civilians or members
of religious orders. It was one of the most elaborate and
complex pieces not only in its construction but in its
casing, which incorporates various techniques. In many
cases it contains complex images that render interesting
interpretations. These images respond to ideas according
to taste and the need for moral aspects.
