The main themes of this conversation are on the one hand, rock art and its relationship with history and Amerindian thought in the Colombian Amazon and on the other, photography as a valuable tool in these studies. Although archaeological studies of the rocks of La Lindosa yield dates between 7.000-10.000 BP, the arguments here presented intend to show that their scenes refer to more recent dates and events such as the relationships between Andean and Amazonian societies and the European conquest itself (mid XVI century). Moreover, they suggest that given the importance of this site and its paintings for contemporary Indian societies, even today the paintings keep being painted.
