Introdução: as flores, folhas, cascas, frutas e nozes de A. occidentale são ricas em
compostos fenólicos e flavonoides, seu alto potencial anti-inflamatório e antioxidante
oferece proteção às células. A pseudofruta e a casca de A. occidentale têm
polifenóis, principalmente taninos, que agem como antibióticos naturais. Objetivo:
o presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar o potencial antioxidante,
antimicrobiano, anti-inflamatório e antifúngico do Anacardium occidentale L.
Metodologia: trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura que pesquisa as
bases de dados: ScienceDirect (Elsevier), Google Scholar (Google) e Redalyc
(Scholarly Scientific Information System Redalyc), de julho a agosto de 2022. Os
artigos passaram por um processo seletivo para a eliminação de duplicatas utilizando
Mendeley Desktop e, em seguida, pelo software livre Rayyan QCRI, lidos
na íntegra e os principais dados analisados e coletados após a Avaliação Crítica do
Evidencer do Hierarchy of Evidence for Intervention Studies. Dez itens foram selecionados,
seguindo o desenho temporal. Resultados: quatro artigos falavam sobre
atividade antioxidante, sete sobre atividade antimicrobiana, um sobre atividade
anti-inflamatória e antifúngica, alguns artigos relatam mais de um potencial terapêutico.
Conclusão: estudos mostraram que o Anacardium occidentale tem potencial
medicinal, principalmente no uso de folhas, casca e goma, e pode atuar como
um inibidor de sítios inflamatórios, espécies bacterianas como Escherichia coli e Staphylococcus aureus. Além de promover a ação antioxidante devido à presença de
flavonoides, taninos, polifenóis e vitamina C.
Introduction: the flowers, leaves, peels, fruits, and nuts of A. occidentale are rich in
phenolic compounds and flavonoids, their high anti-inflammatory and antioxidant
potential offers protection to cells. The pseudo fruit and bark of A. occidentale have
polyphenols, mainly tannins, which act as natural antibiotics. Objective: to analyze
the antioxidant, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory and antifungal potential of Anacardium
occidentale L. Methodology: this is an integrative review of the literature
that searches the databases: ScienceDirect (Elsevier), Google Scholar (Google) and
Redalyc (Scholarly Scientific Information System Redalyc), from July to August
2022. The articles underwent a selection process for the elimination of duplicates
using Mendeley Desktop and then by the free software Rayyan QCRI, read in full
and the main data analyzed and collected after the Critical Assessment of evidence
hierarchy of evidence for intervention studies. Ten items were selected, following the
temporal design. Results: four articles talked about antioxidant activity, seven about
antimicrobial activity, one on anti-inflammatory and antifungal activity, some articles
report more than one therapeutic potential. Conclusion: studies have shown
that Anacardium occidentale has medicinal potential, mainly in the use of leaves,
bark and gums, and can act as an inhibitor of inflammatory sites, bacterial species
such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. In addition to promoting antioxidant
action due to the presence of flavonoids, tannins, polyphenols, and vitamin C.
Introducción: las flores, hojas, cáscaras, frutos y frutos secos de A. occidentale son
ricos en compuestos fenólicos y flavonoides, su alto potencial antiinflamatorio y
antioxidante ofrece protección a las células. La pseudofruta y la corteza de A. occidentale
tienen polifenoles, principalmente taninos, que actúan como antibióticos
naturales. Objetivo: analizar el potencial antioxidante, antimicrobiano, antiinflamatorio
y antifúngico de Anacardium occidentale L. Metodología: se trata de una
revisión integradora de la literatura que busca en las bases de datos: ScienceDirect
(Elsevier), Google Scholar (Google) y Redalyc (Scholarly Scientific Information
System Redalyc), de julio a agosto de 2022. Los artículos se sometieron a un proceso
de selección para la eliminación de duplicados utilizando Mendeley Desktop y luego
por el software libre Rayyan QCRI, leídos en su totalidad y los principales datos analizados
y recopilados después de la Evaluación Crítica de la jerarquía de evidencia para
estudios de intervención. Se seleccionaron diez ítems, siguiendo el diseño temporal.
Resultados: cuatro artículos hablaron sobre la actividad antioxidante, siete sobre
la actividad antimicrobiana, uno sobre la actividad antiinflamatoria y antifúngica,
algunos artículos reportan más de un potencial terapéutico. Conclusión: los estudios
han demostrado que el Anacardium occidentale tiene potencial medicinal,
principalmente en el uso de hojas, corteza y encías, y puede actuar como inhibidor
de sitios inflamatorios, especies bacterianas como Escherichia coli y Staphylococcus
aureus. Además de promover la acción antioxidante debido a la presencia de flavonoides,
taninos, polifenoles y vitamina C.
