Progresos en la vacunación contra la brücellosis bovina (ABORTO INFECCIOSO)

Con el nombre de Brucellosis se conoce una enfermedad infecciosa, contagiosa, de curso crónico, que ataca tanto al hombre como a los animales domésticos y es determinada por 3 especies diferentes de gérmenes, que producen en cada especie un cuadro clínico diferente. Tenemos que la Brucella melitensis (Hughes) fue la primera especie del género, aislada por Bruce en 1887, que tiene como huésped primario la cabra y como huésped secundario al hombre.

Esta especie es principalmente importante en el hombre por determinar en él la fiebre ondulante o del Mediterráneo, aunque tanto la Br. suis como la Br. abortus determinan en el una infección sistemática o focal semejante.
