INTRODUCCIÓN

Una condición clínica de los ovarios de la hembra bovina, denominada "quistes ováricos", ha sido amplia y frecuentemente relatada en la literatura veterinaria. Garm (1949) refiere que la primera cita sobre esta entidad se hizo por el año de 1831. El síndrome clínico del ovario quístico o de los ovarios quísticos está caracterizado por infertilidad o por esterilidad, asociadas a la presencia de modificaciones anatómicas ováricas (quistes), a alteraciones del comportamiento sexual y a la disrupción del ciclo estral normal.
