Cianuro de sorgo y la yuca detoxicado con tiosulfato, en raciones para pollos o ratas

El sorgo y la yuca pueden reemplazar al maíz en raciones para aves y cerdos, en el trópico, con ventajas tales como su mayor rendimiento promedio por hectárea, su adaptabilidad a terrenos semiáridos, y su Inferior aceptabilidad por el humano. Sin embargo para el correcto uso del sorgo deben tenerse en cuenta características tales como su menor contenido de energía metabolizable, sus variables niveles de proteína, y la relación inversa que guarda la proteína con el contenido de Usina. En cuanto a la yuca, su mínimo nivel de proteína y difícil preservación, son las mayores limitantes. Otro factor negativo para los dos productos, puede ser el contenido de glucósidos cianogónlcos de algunas variedades, particularmente en su estado fresco.
