Relaciones de edad, sexo, raza, peso y grasa dorsal en cerdos vivos

Un total de 100 cerdos de varios pesos seleccionados al azar, de grupos Duroc puro y Landrace x Duroc fueron usados en este estudio. Las medidas de grasa dorsal fueron correlacionadas en la edad o con el peso y los coeficientes de correlación para estos factores fueron ensayados para homogeneidad de acuerdo a edad, peso en cada raza.
Se encontró que el peso corporal era altamente correlacionado con el promedio de medidas de grasa dorsal. Los coeficientes de correlación entre peso corporal y espesor de la grasa dorsal para ambos sexos de Duroc Jersey diferían significativamente mientras que en los cruces Duroc x Landrace eran homogéneos. Para el Duroc el macho deposita más grasa que para la hembra. Para el cruce Landrace x Duroc ambos sexos muestran igual capacidad para depositar grasa.
