La noción de “fin”, y el deseo de este fin, son cruciales dentro de la teoría aristotélica de la acción, en tanto sustentan no sólo la posibilidad misma de actuar, sino también la evaluación ética de la acción. El deseo de un fin en la acción es identificado en varios lugares de la obra de Aristóteles con el deseo del bien. En el capítulo 4 del libro III de la Ética a Nicómaco, Aristóteles plantea un problema en lo que concierne a este deseo, según el cual el deseo puede ser del bien en sí o del bien aparente. El presente artículo intenta esclarecer ambas posibilidades a partir de la manera como Aristóteles las trata, y propone una interpretación de su respuesta a este problema y de las consecuencias que esta traería para su teoría de la acción. Con esto, pretende sugerir la indiscutible importancia y pertinencia de este problema a la luz de las consecuencias que tiene en la teoría de la acción aristotélica.

(The Wish for the Good or the Apparent Good in Nicomachean Ethics III. 4): The notions of “end”, and the wish for such an end, are crucial within the Aristotelic theory of action, insofar as they justify, not only the possibility of acting, but also the ethical evaluation of action. The wish for an end in the action is identified in various places within Aristotle’s work with the wish
for the good. In the 4th chapter of the third book of the Nicomachean Ethics, Aristotle proposes a problem in regard to this wish, according to which it can be a wish for the good in itself or for the apparent good. This paper tries to clarify both possibilities according to the way Aristotle presents them and to propose an interpretation of his answer to the problem and the consequences that it
would entail to his theory of action. It tries also to suggest the indisputable importance and relevance of this problem according to its consequences on the aristotelic theory of action.
