Una de las tesis que intenta mostrar David Hume con sus argumentos escépticos acerca de la inducción es la imposibilidad de justificar el principio de uniformidad de la naturaleza. En el presente artículo se buscará mostrar: primero, que el argumento que da Hume para tal tesis es inválido. Segundo, que es posible construir un argumento correcto que muestre tal tesis. Tercero, que si bien es imposible justificar con un argumento deductivo el principio de uniformidad de la naturaleza, es posible construir para él una justificación pragmatista que, a la postre, puede resultar complementaria a la justificación naturalista que ofrece Hume. Tal justificación de carácter pragmatista es todo a lo que podemos aspirar con relación al principio de uniformidad de la naturaleza.

One of the theses that David Hume tries to show with his skeptical arguments about induction is the impossibility of justifying the principle of uniformity of nature. This article will seek to show: first, that Hume's argument for such a thesis is invalid. Second, that it is possible to construct a correct argument showing such a thesis. Third, that although it is impossible to justify the principle of uniformity of nature with a deductive argument, it is possible to construct a pragmatist justification for it that, in the end, may be complementary to the naturalistic justification offered by Hume. Such a pragmatic justification is all we can hope for in relation to the principle of the uniformity of nature.
