Linguistic expressions and extralinguistic objects in Aristotle's categories

Aristóteles presenta, en su tratado de lógica Categorías, una lista de diez términos independientes que pueden dividirse según las normas gramaticales de la lengua. Sin embargo, en esta forma no combinada en que son presentados, surge el problema acerca de su referencia: ¿son expresiones meramente lingüísticas, se refieren a objetos extralingüísticos o se presentan las dos anteriores simultáneamente? En consecuencia, en este proyecto, mi objetivo será hacer un análisis de la lista categorial y ver cuál es el funcionamiento específico dentro del tratado, con base en el par de términos ‘se dice en’ y ‘presente en’ y sus respectivas negaciones. Para, finalmente, mostrar si es posible que su conformación permita una estructura sujeto-predicado y dar con si son o no un muestrario de las cosas que hay.

Aristotle presents, in his logical treatise Categories, a list of ten independent terms that can be divided according to the grammatical rules of the language. However, in this non-combined form in which they are presented, the problem arises as to their reference: are they merely linguistic expressions, do they refer to extra-linguistic objects, or are both presented simultaneously? Consequently, in this project, my aim will be to make an analysis of the categorial list and see what is the specific functioning within the treatise, based on the pair of terms 'se dice en' and 'presente en' and their respective negations. Finally, to show whether it is possible that their conformation allows for a subject-predicate structure and whether or not they are a sample of the things that are there.
