In order to guarantee the validity of the results obtained in the measurements of lightning electric field, calibration processes were carried out to the whole measuring system and its individual components. With the calibration process correction factors will be obtained. These factors will allow the more precise calculation of electric field. The frequency response of the measuring system, used in Bogotá, is presented here. This system includes a flat antenna, a buffer amplifier, a RG58/U cable and a high bandwidth LeCroy oscilloscope. Additionally, to verify the calibration process, simulations were performed using to 3D finite elements method program. The antenna behavior was determined using the finite differences in time domain method program.
