Due to the great number of voltage sags in one of the refineries of the PETROBRAS system caused mainly by events at the local utility electrical network and sometimes at the refinery internal distribution circuits, an electrical power quality study was carried out aiming at the mitigation of the consequences of such events. A device was developed to minimize the contactors sensitivity to momentary voltage sag.
