La inteligencia artificial (IA) está impulsando una profunda transformación en las ciencias biológicas al permitir el análisis de sistemas biológicos complejos en múltiples niveles de organización. Los métodos de IA son cada vez más fundamentales para la investigación en regulación génica, neurociencia, biología evolutiva, modelado de ecosistemas y análisis de redes metabólicas. Esta nota examina las aplicaciones actuales y las perspectivas de la IA en seis dominios biológicos principales: biología molecular y celular, biología estructural y de sistemas, neurociencia, ecología y biología evolutiva, biología sintética y descubrimiento científico autónomo.
