The objective of this research is to demonstrate the fundamental agreement between economists and sociologists’ theoretical contributions related to the net-work approach. In order to do so, contributions were grouped into six main categories: teleology, epistemology, methodology, individual agents, organizations, and institutions. Based on the results, it was concluded that, while these contributions have a very similar theoretical profile, it is possible to identify some discrepancies regarding the markets-networks-hierarchies taxonomy.
