El deslastre de carga como herramienta poderosa para corregir grandes perturbaciones en un sistema de potencia, se presenta en términos de consideraciones practicas relativas a la carga total por deslastrar y la distribución de esta carga en etapas y los demás parámetros que definen un esquema de deslastre. Se explican las características de un programa de computador específicamente desarrollado para el estudio, el cual comprende el modelado del sistema de potencia adicionado al problema enfrentado. Lo anterior se complementa con un análisis de casos para una de las empresas de energía, haciendo énfasis en la metodología adoptada.
Las conclusiones establecen la importancia del deslastre de carga para el sistema cuando está operando en condiciones críticas, ocasionadas por fallas en la generación, sin respaldo en la generación interna o asistencia de los sistemas vecinos a través de las líneas de interconexión. Como parte de las conclusiones se recalcan aquellos resultados que pueden ser aplicables a cualquier sistema de potencia.
