En este documento se resumen los resultados en el desarrollo experimental de las etapas necesarias para recuperar polietileno de invernadero. Se estudia la forma en que se alteran las propiedades físicas y de procesabilidad del material virgen al someterlo a largos periodos de exposición al ambiente y la forma en que varían estas propiedades al preparar mezclas de polietileno virgen y reciclado. Los resultados sugieren utilizar como máximo 30% de polietileno reciclado en las mezclas para evitar grandes variaciones en las propiedades del producto final.
