El IX Congreso del presente año de 1999, se ratifica una vez más como gran momento de expresión, de estímulo y promulgación de la actividad académica para bien del país, pudiéndose así demostrar la grandeza de nuestra escuela con su integración básico-clínica, su proceso formativo y su permanente asistencia a favor de la salud individual y colectiva gracias a la existencia insustituible de sus Hospitales Universitarios de San Juan de Dios, el Instituto Materno Infantil, y el Hospital de la Misericordia y Clínica Carlos Lleras, entidades pilares para la gran gestión de la Universidad Nacional a favor de la salud de todo Colombia.
