Nueva nomenclatura de los fenómenos de ovulación

Aunque clásicamente se denomina "Ovulación" el desprendimiento o expulsión del óvulo, generalmente se entiende por Ovulación el desarrollo del folículo primordial, su maduración y su expulsión; la diferencia entre la denominación clásica y la creencia general ocasiona consecuenciales confusiones muy frecuentes; además, mentalmente es difícil aislar la evolución del folículo de su maduración y ésta de su expulsión con precisión histológica. Por percepción directa, en botánica, observamos que el desarrollo, la maduración y el desprendimiento deun fruto tienen una evolución que tampoco se puede delimitar intelectualmente con exactitud química: tales estados llevan las denominaciones relativas: "Verde", "Madura" y "Caída", cuyo conjunto es la fructificación. Entenderé, pues, en lo sucesivo por Ovulación el conjunto de los fenómenos, dé "desarrollo del folículo", de su "maduración" y de su "desprendimiento" y a estos tres componentes o estados de la ovulación los denominaré así: "el desarrollo" o "la evolución del folículo primordial", Foliculación; "la madurez del folículo", "la evolución del folículo de Graaf', Maduración folicular; "la expulsión del óvulo", "el desprendimiento del óvulo", "la postura ovular" o "la ovulación", Expulsión Ovular. Indudablemente, el uso de esta nomenclatura que propongo elimina unasinonimia inadecuada y confusa, y por lo tanto facilita mayor claridad.
