El texto se ocupa de plantear el argumento del comienzo de EN I.2 sobre la existencia de la felicidad—el fin de los fines—y la acusación de falacia que se ha imputado a Aristóteles por el mismo. El argumento de Aristóteles debe mostrar [1] que es imposible que se desee algo con miras a otra cosa y ésta por otra, y así al infinito; y [2] que existe un fin en virtud del cual todo lo demás es buscado. The text exposes the argument at the beginning of EN 1.2 about the existence of happiness -the end of all ends-, and the accusation of fallacy that has been launched toward Aristotle regarding such argument. Aristotle must show [1] that it is impossible to desire something for another thing and this one for another, and so on infinitely: and [2] that there is an end for the sake of which every other end is sought. After establishing that the argument lack firmness in supporting both premises in order to avoid the fallacy accusation, the missing support is sought for in Met. a.2, one of the text in which, it is said, it might be found. The search will imply talking about teleology and its application to the theory of action.
