Uso prudente del computador para prevenir fallas en ingeniería
El artículo corresponde a la ponencia presentada por J. KRATKY en el Primer Congreso de Ingeniería Forense de la ASCE realizado el 5 de Octubre de 1998 en Minneapolis en el Zask Committe on Avoiding Failures by Computer Missue, como resultado del trabajo del comité, referente a las repercusiones que conlleva emplear imprudentemente las aplicaciones mediante los computadores en el campo de la Ingeniería, e invita a los actores participes de la Ingeniería Civil a tener en cuenta las providencias del caso para hacer un buen uso de las ayudas computacionales.
En vista de que el uso de los computadores en la ingeniería ha prácticamente transformado la Ingeniería como profesión, y que en ella, el uso indebido del computador y de las aplicaciones, ha llegado a ser óbice de fallas en obras de Ingeniería originadas en el diseño, es conveniente por ende, tener mucha prudencia tanto en el empleo del computador como en sus aplicaciones al constituirse en una herramienta fundamental hoy en día de trabajo y como tal vale la pena tener en cuenta las siguientes reflexiones:
