EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE AND CONCENTRATION ON THE VISCOSITY OF AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS OF 3-AMINOPROPANOIC ACID, 4-AMINOBUTANOIC ACID, 5-AMINOPENTANOIC ACID, 6-AMINOHEXANOIC ACID

In this work we present the effect of temperature
on the viscosities of aqueous solutions
of 3-aminopropanoic acid, 4-aminobutanoic
acid, 5-aminopentanoic acid
and 6-aminohexanoic acid as a function
of concentration. The experimental measurements
were done from 293.15 K to
308.15 K. At each temperature the experimental
data were fi tted to the Tsangaris-
Martin equation and the B viscosity coeffi
cient was determined. The dependence
of the B coeffi cients on the number of
carbon atoms of the amino acids is linear,
so the contribution of polar and apolar
groups was established. The results are
interpreted in terms of amino acid hydration.
