E. Farcino del Buey es una enfermedad infecciosa crónica, que se presenta en la

Sabana de Bogotá desde hace varios años.

Esta enfermedad fue observada y  estudiada por primera vez en el país, por el

Dr. José Velásquez Q., cuando al tuberculinizar unos animales en un hato de la sabana de Bogotá, observo que todos los que presentaban infartos ganglionares en las partes inferiores de los miembros, eran los que daban las reacciones más clásicas a la prueba de la tuberculina. A esta enfermedad él la diagnostico  clínicamente como Farcino del Buey.
