Se presentan tres (3) casos de pacientes con hemobilia, los cuales fueron manejados en la sección de Cirugía General del Hospital San Juan de Dios de Bogotá, en los dos últimos años. En todos ellos la causa fue traumática (trauma cerrado o herida por a.c.p.]. En uno de ellos se había practicado múltiples intervenciones quirúrgicas antes del ingreso al hospital y de hacerse el diagnóstico preciso. Realizádo el diagnóstico, se les practicó drenaje de la colección intrahepática, ligadura de la fistula bilio-vascular y ligadura selectiva de la arteria hepática. La evolución post-operatoria de los pacientes fue satisfactoria. Finalmente se llama la atención sobre esta entidad clínica reconocida desde el siglo XVII, pero que aún en la actualidad sigue siendo identificada tardíamente y que en ocasiones origina la pérdida de estos pacientes.
