Propuesta numérica para el cálculo de columnas complejas en la destilación de multicomponentes

En este artículo se propone y desarrolla un método numérico compacto y numéricamente estable para la solución de la distribución de los productos en una destilación de multicomponentes en columnas complejas. El método riguroso desarrollado utiliza el algoritmo de Thomas en la resolución de la matriz tridiagonal - NT - resultante de la linealización de las ecuaciones del balance de materia y un método mejorado de memoria - IMM - para el cálculo del perfil mejorado de temperatura en la columna y que se utiliza como contraste para la convergencia del proceso iterativo. Éste se inicializa con un perfil de flujo de vapor y un perfil lineal de temperatura. En la fase inicial se emplea un método mejorado de memoria para la caracterización de las corrientes de alimentación a la columna. Al final se presentan algunas comparaciones que muestran la bondad de las técnicas numéricas propuestas en la formulación del problema. Adicionalmente se determinó un parámetro de relajación que optimiza el proceso iterativo.
