Ubicación óptima de platino en pellets catalíticos para la oxidación total de propileno

En el presente artículo se muestra cual debe ser desde el punto de vista matemático, la ubicación óptima de platino dentro de un pellet catalítico para lograr que la actividad del pellet o el factor de efectividad sean máximos para la oxidación total de hidrocarburos, como el propileno. Esta ubicación de agente activo se lleva a cabo mediante una distribución Delta-Dirac. Adicionalmente se presenta el factor de efectividad como una función del módulo de Thiele, de la resistencia externa a los fenómenos de transporte y de la ubicación del platino dentro del pellet catalítico.
