En esta segunda parte del artículo se hace una breve descripción de los factores que influyen sobre la expansividad de los suelos arcillosos parcialmente saturados, y se indican las soluciones, más adecuadas, para evitar los problemas causados por la expansión de los suelos arcillosos cuando sobre ellos se construyen estructuras livianas.
El artículo completo fue presentado en el Primer Encuentro Nacional de Ingenieros de Suelos y de Estructuras, evento que se realizó en Santafé de Bogotá entre el 4 y el 6 de Septiembre de 1991.
