La crisis provocada por la COVID-19 dejó a las empresas algunas lecciones que reforzaron sus capacidades dinámicas. El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar el efecto que la capacidad de resiliencia produjo en el rendimiento bajo la mediación de la capacidad de innovación en 165 restaurantes mexicanos a cuatro años de enfrentar una crisis. La investigación fue cuantitativa, no experimental, de corte transversal. El modelo de mediación comprobó significancia positiva en los efectos directos e indirectos. La respuesta rápida con acciones inmediatas, el compromiso de todo el equipo de la organización y el adecuado uso de los recursos existentes direccionaron la innovación del servicio mediante nuevas formas de comercialización, motivación de contribución al proceso, generación de nuevas ideas, desarrollo de la creatividad y aplicación de nuevas tecnologías que agregaron valor al cliente; en consecuencia, se logró llegar a un mercado más amplio, ofrecer servicios de mejor calidad, incrementar la base de clientes y mejorar los ingresos. La limitante de esta investigación se debe a la percepción solo de los directivos; sin embargo, el reflejo de los beneficios obtenidos es para ellos una estimulación a continuar el desarrollo de capacidades de resiliencia e innovación.
The crisis caused by COVID-19 left companies with some lessons that strengthened their dynamic capabilities. The objective of this research was to analyze the effect that resilience had on performance, mediated by innovation capacity, in 165 Mexican restaurants four years after facing a crisis. The research was quantitative, non-experimental, and cross-sectional. The mediation model showed positive significance in both direct and indirect effects. The rapid response with immediate actions, the commitment of the entire organization team, and the appropriate use of existing resources drove service innovation through new forms of marketing, motivation to contribute to the process, generation of new ideas, development of creativity, and application of new technologies that added value to the customer. As a result, a broader market was reached, better quality services were offered, the customer base was increased, and revenue was improved. The limitation of this research is due to the perception of managers alone; however, the reflection of the benefits obtained is an incentive for them to continue developing resilience and innovation capabilities.
A crise provocada pela COVID-19 deixou às empresas algumas lições que reforçaram as suas capacidades dinâmicas. O objetivo desta investigação foi analisar o efeito que a capacidade de resiliência produziu no desempenho sob a mediação da capacidade de inovação em 165 restaurantes mexicanos quatro anos após enfrentarem uma crise. A investigação foi quantitativa, não experimental e transversal. O modelo de mediação comprovou significância positiva nos efeitos diretos e indiretos. A resposta rápida com ações imediatas, o compromisso de toda a equipa da organização e o uso adequado dos recursos existentes direcionaram a inovação do serviço por meio de novas formas de comercialização, motivação para contribuir com o processo, geração de novas ideias, desenvolvimento da criatividade e aplicação de novas tecnologias que agregaram valor ao cliente; consequentemente, foi possível alcançar um mercado mais amplo, oferecer serviços de melhor qualidade, aumentar a base de clientes e melhorar as receitas. A limitação desta investigação deve-se à perceção apenas dos gestores; no entanto, o reflexo dos benefícios obtidos é para eles um estímulo para continuar o desenvolvimento de capacidades de resiliência e inovação.
