Entrepreneurship is an activity that often emerges within the informal economy and undergoes a lengthy process toward formalization. The aim of this research is to identify research trends related to entrepreneurial intention and the informal economy worldwide during the period from 2019 to 2023. Through a documentary exploration in Scopus database, 62 publications were identified and selected based on the criterion of reviewing results relevant to this research, using the Bibliometrix package to analyze scientific production and identify research trends related to the topic. The results indicate that entrepreneurial education, the theory of planned behavior, resilience to crises, financial resources, and prior entrepreneurial experience are the trends concerning the selected variables. While entrepreneurial education is the most relevant trend in terms of publication volume, it is not the most significant in terms of local impact, as indicated by the number of citations. This distinction belongs to resilience to crises, given that authors’ findings highlight entrepreneurship as an economic opportunity, which influences the intention to undertake a business activity. Due to the low number of publications on this subject, the results presented may vary in future reviews.
