Estas notas están dirigidas a la naturaleza de la Geografía Histórica y a algunos de sus problemas. Por predilección, debería presentar datos y conclusiones de mi propio trabajo en México. Pero, sin embargo, me siento inclinado a hacer lo que a menudo se estila en las reuniones anuales de este cuerpo, es decir, presentar en cierta manera una confesión de la fe que ha sostenido nuestro trabajo.
