Tendencias actuales en reanimación con líquidos durante el trauma

Durante el abordaje inicial del trauma, ya sea en el ambiente prehospitalario u hospitalario, la administración de líquidos tradicionalmente se ha considerado de gran importancia para mejorar el pronóstico del paciente politraumatizado. Durante los últimos años se ha ido acumulando gran cantidad de evidencia con respecto a este tópico, y aún no ha sido posible llegar a un acuerdo sobre el manejo de los líquidos en este tipo de pacientes, generándose una gran controversia al respecto. El objetivo de este artículo es hacer una revisión de las tendencias actuales en el manejo de la reanimación con líquidos, haciendo énfasis en las recomendaciones que la evidencia permite conocer hasta la fecha, y sus posibles implicaciones terapéuticas en la evolución del paciente.

Although during the last years great quantity of evidence has been accumulated with regard to this topic, it has not still been possible to reach an agreement about the handling of this useful tool during the approach of this type of patient, and great controversy has been generated to this respecto The objective of this artiele is to make a revision of the current tendencies in the handling of the fluid resuscitation, making emphasis in the recommendations that the evidence allows to know so far, and its possible therapeutic implications in the patient's outcome.
