100 años del nodo sinusal ¿La anatomía al servicio de la clínica?

Hace 100 años que Keith y Flack hicieron la primera descripción del nodo sinusal en diferentes animales, ellos encontraron que en la unión sinoatrial "las fibras son estriadas, fusiformes, con núcleos bien marcados y elongados, plejiformes e inmersos en tejido conectivo densamente empaquetado - de hecho, similar a la estructura del nodo Knoten (conocido hoy como nodo AV) (1). En la época del renacimiento ya se describía la circulación coronaria y Leonardo Da Vinci mostraba en sus dibujos anatómicos la salida de las arterias coronarias, aunque originadas en el ventrículo izquierdo (2).
