Resumen (es)

En resumen, el libro de Toledo Mancilla presenta una historia diplomática que se aventura en los meandros de la historia transnacional. Así, logra la hazaña de reunir en menos de 200 páginas temas de historia latinoamericana, europea y otomana. Se trata de una investigación pionera y ejecutada con rigor. Es un texto bien escrito, de lectura fluida y entretenida. A pesar de algunos errores ortográficos en la transcripción de la correspondencia de Blest Gana en francés, eso no quita calidad a esta investigación, que invita a tratar la Guerra del Pacífico desde un enfoque transnacional, más allá de los tradicionales estudios historiográficos nacionales.
