El proceso de diseño debe ser iterativo de manera que se formulen ideas y arreglos de materiales que cumplan una función determinada. Estas ideas son transmitidas al usuario final por medio de ESPECIFICACIONES. Este artículo se ocupa de analizar, en forma somera, los cuatro tipos de especificaciones que tienen mayor incidencia en el proceso de diseño: especificaciones de diseño, proceso, producto y funcionalidad. Para situar bien al lector en este tema, es necesario ubicarlo dentro del proceso general de diseño en la Ingeniería.

4. The authors accept that such authorization is given free of charge and they, therefore, waive any right to receive remuneration from the publication, distribution, public communication and any use whatsoever referred to in the terms of this authorization.
