Las empresas B son un tipo de organización híbrida en expansión que busca un impacto social o ambiental positivo en sus grupos de interés. Para certificarse, deben mostrar dicho impacto a través de un formulario denominado “evaluación de impacto B”, que incluye la posibilidad de describir aspectos innovadores de sus mo-delos de negocio. El presente estudio, exploratorio y descriptivo, uti-liza el estudio de caso múltiple para revisar 21 evaluaciones de im-pacto de empresas B de América Latina, ofreciendo por primera vez una descripción de las innovaciones de los modelos de negocio de este tipo de empresas, que han sido consideradas en sí mismas for-mas de innovación organizacional. Los resultados, con los límites propios de la metodología empleada, muestran que las empresas B articulan más de una orientación de innovación, encontrándose una combinación de innovaciones organizacionales, sociales y tecno-lógicas en sus modelos de negocio. Asimismo, sus innovaciones se concentran en la proposición de valor, añadiendo innovaciones en la captura de valor para incorporar a sus grupos de interés primario como clientes o distribuir mejor el valor entre ellos. Finalmente, sus innovaciones responden a más de un modelo de negocio sostenible, como una forma de poner en balance las lógicas social y económica de las organizaciones híbridas.

B Corporations are a growing type of hybrid organization that seeks a positive social or environmental impact on its stakeholders. To become certified, they must show such impact through a form called "B impact assessment", which includes the possibility of describing innovative aspects of their business models. This exploratory and descriptive study uses the multiple case study to review 21 impact evaluations of Latin American B companies, offering for the first time a description of the innovations of the business models of these types of companies, which have been considered in themselves forms of organizational innovation. The results, within the limits of the methodology used, show that B companies articulate more than one innovation orientation, finding a combination of organizational, social and technological innovations in their business models. Likewise, their innovations focus on value proposition, adding innovations in value capture to incorporate their primary stakeholders as customers or better distribute value among them. Finally, their innovations respond to more than one sustainable business model, as a way of balancing the social and economic logics of hybrid organizations.

As empresas B são um tipo crescente de organização híbrida que procura ter um impacto social ou ambiental positivo nas suas partes interessadas. Para serem certificadas, devem demonstrar esse impacto através de um formulário denominado "avaliação de impacto B", que inclui a possibilidade de descrever aspectos inovadores dos seus modelos de negócio. Este estudo exploratório e descritivo utiliza o estudo de casos múltiplos para analisar 21 avaliações de impacto de empresas B latino-americanas, oferecendo pela primeira vez uma descrição das inovações do modelo de negócio deste tipo de empresas, que têm sido consideradas formas de inovação organizacional. Os resultados, com os limites da metodologia empregue, mostram que as empresas B articulam mais do que uma orientação de inovação, encontrando uma combinação de inovações organizacionais, sociais e tecnológicas nos seus modelos de negócio. Além disso, as suas inovações concentram-se na proposta de valor, acrescentando inovações na captura de valor para incorporar as suas principais partes interessadas como clientes ou para distribuir melhor o valor entre elas. Por último, as suas inovações respondem a mais do que um modelo empresarial sustentável, como forma de equilibrar as lógicas sociais e económicas das organizações híbridas.
