in 1958 to the coup d’état forged by Hugo Chávez Frías in 1992. It includes the fall of dictator Marcos Pérez Jiménez, the periods of rise, prosperity and decline of the Punto Fijo régime, and a hypothesis regarding Chávez as a hope for Venezuelan people after his irruption on the political scene against the government of Carlos Andrés Pérez.
