Case reports (E-ISSN: 2462-8522) is an official publication of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, a specialized, digital, open-access, peer-reviewed journal that has been published non-stop since 2015. Its aim is to disseminate case reports, case series, literature reviews on case reports (focusing on specific aspects such as treatment, diagnosis, interventions, among others), as well as editorials that are relevant to the progress of teaching, reflection, and practice in health sciences, social sciences, and related disciplines.
Currently, Case reports can be found indexed or covered in databases and platforms such as SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), LILACS-BVS (Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences Literature), REDALYC (Network of Scientific Journals from Latin America and the Caribbean, Spain, and Portugal), DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), and REDIB (Ibero-American Network of Innovation and Scientific Knowledge). Furthermore, it is hosted on the OJS (Open Journal Systems) platform, on the Portal de Revistas UN (UN Journal Platform) of the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and is indexed by Google Scholar.
In January 2025, the Journal implemented a continuous publication model, with an annual volume consisting of several articles published as they become available, replacing the previous biannual publication model (two issues per year), to improve dissemination times and content availability.
