Es muy grato presentar a través de la Revista “Ingeniería e Investigación” una serie de aspectos fundamentales de una carrera que ha logrado alcanzar posición destacada no solo dentro de las profesiones del sector agropecuario, sino de otras afines o similares en su plan curricular.
Dentro de este contexto se presentan las características generales de la profesión, historia y desarrollo que ha tenido en el ámbito colombiano y latinoamericano, las normas que le han dado la estructuración jurídica y académica dentro de la Universidad Nacional.
Igualmente se presenta una serie de trabajos de investigación realizados en los diferentes campos de acción de la Ingeniería Agrícola, por los profesionales adscritos al cuerpo docente del Departamento, como un aporte al desarrollo del sector primario de la economía nacional.

The authors authorize the Universidad Nacional de Colombia's journal Ingeniería e Investigación to publish the document in whatever required format (printed, digital, electronic or whatsoever known or yet to be discovered form) and authorize Ingeniería e Investigación to include the work in any indices and/or search engines deemed necessary for promoting its diffusion;
4. The authors accept that such authorization is given free of charge and they, therefore, waive any right to receive remuneration from the publication, distribution, public communication and any use whatsoever referred to in the terms of this authorization.
