La mecatrónica es un neologismo incorporado al léxico. de la contemporaneidad en virtud de la múltiple y variada convergencia de complementariedad entre diferentes ramas del saber y la técnica.
Este proceso dinámico de síntesis en el conocimiento moderno ha sido gestado por la amplia proyección de la tecnología de base informatizada. Por otra parte, el presente trabajo ha sido motivado por la particular proyección que desde tiempo atrás ha venido configurando nuestra facultad de Ingeniería. Esta iniciativa hoy se constituye en hecho académico tangible debido a la reciente constitución del Centro de Investigación en Automatización Industrial por parte del Consejo Superior Universitario de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia.

The authors authorize the Universidad Nacional de Colombia's journal Ingeniería e Investigación to publish the document in whatever required format (printed, digital, electronic or whatsoever known or yet to be discovered form) and authorize Ingeniería e Investigación to include the work in any indices and/or search engines deemed necessary for promoting its diffusion;
4. The authors accept that such authorization is given free of charge and they, therefore, waive any right to receive remuneration from the publication, distribution, public communication and any use whatsoever referred to in the terms of this authorization.
