Fundamentado en los objetivos y alcances que se contemplan en la investigación integral de diseño, tecnología y economía para la fabricación de máquinas-herramientas en el país, se presenta el enfoque general del método de desarrollo del mencionado estudio. Igualmente se señalan y analizan los diversos aspectos que sustentan la importancia que tiene, para el proceso económico y social de los países en vía de desarrollo, la industria de bienes de capital y, en particular, el subsector de máquinas-herramientas. El trabajo ha sido financiado por COLCIENCIAS-CINDEC.
