About the Journal

The Revista Colombiana de Química (Rev. Colomb. Quim.) is a scientific and refereed publication of the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Sciences, Universidad Nacional de Colombia - Sede Bogotá. It currently publishes three issues per year and all its volumes are available online at the website:

This publication is indexed in the databases Publindex - Índice Bibliográfico Nacional, Scielo Colombia, Scopus, Redalyc, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) Source Index, Latindex, Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) and BIBLAT. We have a Scientific and Editorial Committee composed of researchers of recognized trajectory in their areas of expertise and we accept relevant contributions in the different areas of chemistry: analytical, biochemistry, organic, physicochemistry, food, inorganic, materials science, organometallic, chemistry education, among others.

We invite students, research groups, teachers, independent researchers, and experts with recognized research trajectories to publish their articles related to the different areas of chemistry in our journal. Only contributions considered as research results will be published.

The content of the articles must be original, unpublished, and not have been sent totally or partially for publication in another journal. The acceptance of papers for publication depends on the Editorial Committee and the concept of specialists in the subject, for which a double-blind system is used.

Our journal provides immediate free access to its content under the principle that making research freely available to the public contributes to a greater exchange of global knowledge. Therefore, the contents we publish are for students, researchers, teachers, and professionals related to or interested in any area of chemistry. 

The publication of the article, as well as the editorial process, is free of charge. We also do not generate subscription costs since our content is open access under a Creative Commons BY 4.0 license, which allows any person or entity in the world to freely access the content, share it, download it, adapt it, or make derivative works without any restriction, as long as they properly indicate the credit to the authors and the Revista Colombiana de Química.
